What you would need for this pudding
This recipe use ingredients that are common and the chance is big that it will readily be available in your pantry.
To start this wonderful chocolate pudding, preheat your oven to 180. Spray or oil the inside of a medium-sized baking dish. Accordingly, use a dish you suspect is too big, than too small.
For the batter:
- 60ml melted butter
- 1 egg, whipped
- 250ml cake flour
- 2ml salt
- 175ml milk
- 175ml sugar
- 5ml vanilla
- 20ml cocoa powder
- 10ml baking powder
Cream the butter and sugar and add the vanilla essence. But, don’t stop beating until the batter is nice and creamy and light. Stick your finger in the batter and savour the taste.
Mix the dry ingredients together until just combined. Add a bit of the flour mixture to the butter batter, and beat. Add a bit of the milk, and beat again. Continue this process until all the milk and flour mixture are combined with the butter and sugar batter.
Taste the batter with your little finger and admire the rich chocolate taste.
With a spatula, scrape the mixture into the oiled baking tray. Lick out the remaining content or give it to your kids. I do not recommend giving it to the dog, he might eat the whole bowl π
Firmly tap the tray on the counter to make sure the batter has settled in all the corners and no huge bubbles are hiding in the chocolate goodness. Place aside.
For the sauce:
- 300ml boiling water
- 25ml cacoa powder
- 250ml brown sugar
In a small saucepan, mix together the boiling water, the cocoa powder and the brown sugar. Bring to a boil and allow to boil for a few minutes.
Then, carefully pour the sauce over the batter, making sure that there is still plenty of room for the batter to rise as mine has boiled over on quite a few occasions!
Place your wonderful smelling creation into the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes.
Then, after 30 minutes, remove it from the oven and allow it to cool slightly so that the sauce can thicken into wonderful chocolate goodness.
Garnish with edible flowers and berries. Also, a splash of custard will also complement your chocolate pudding excellently.
Enjoy
